Quick update, I have found the diag conn nearly buried under the loom and relays.

I have place and old analog oscope at the K-line??. I'm not familiar wiht K or Lin buses, but it goes from 0 to 12V, I have attached some pict. Maybe Kev can give some clue, anyway, I will grab a digital oscope tomorrow and I will make a long analog log.

I'm 99% confident that we/I will make a simple interface and software in order to run a full diag on the Z using a PC.

have fun,

j.

all the best in the dakar trip and will be on the look out for you.

Interesting - I've not found that the case with mine, although I tend to run it on regular anyway (hell, I was running it on 87 or 92 in the US!)... I filled it up at the weekend (on my way to Horizons) and it seemed to be running fine there and all the way home on Sunday... yet next time I ride it it feels funky though - and still the same tank of fuel...

As far as I know, there is no fuel filter in the tank - but perhaps there is some cak floating around in there which is showing itself now the fuel level is lower (or has just dislodged something?) - for info, it's just gone onto reserve - although as we all know, that still means there is 6 litres in there!

Hence the diagnostic tool, just to eliminate any air sensor fault...

I can't make much out the graph.

Yup, I know is not very good. FYI signal is 12V peak2peak, idle is at 12v and shortest 0 level is 0.1ms long. It looks to me like an ordinary async serial signal.

I will try to grab the digital oscope and make a longer log and a simple interface to an RS232 port in order to log meaningful digital data.

have fun,

j.
