I mostly ride fast A & B roads (no dual or motorways) and get around 65mpg, with a fill up at around 220 miles even if the reserve hasn't started flashing, usually 14-15litres.

I found that the Tenere fuel consumption is very depended on the state of chain (lots of lube on a regular basis), tyres (correct pressure) and light hand on the throttle (sub-70mpg, rpm below 5k).

last week i drove 556km till the last drop. 176km in 'reserve'. i was easy on the gas tho, never exceeded 4000rpm

In the 5th @ 4000RPM I get 107KM/h. Thats with my gf and loads of luggage in a relatively calm weather. Ive managed 3.8L/100km doing a ~400km trip (62MPG in the old money). I was gentle on the gas, never exceeded 5000RPM.

Where do you get 98RON in Oz for $1.10 we pay $1.40+ for it in Brisbane.

I'm getting about 60mpg on my bike, but with the dodgy fuel guage I'm never too sure of just how far I've got left in the tank. I usually fill up around the 250 mile mark.

What will happen if I do actually run out of fuel? Will I need to bleed into the FI system or can I just top up and go?

duibhceK 04-08-09 14:24

I get around 4.5 l/100km which is around 63 mpg.

Yes l find the same pessimistic problem.
I have reverted to trip meter not fuel gauge.
400km then fuel up.

**My worst fuel range 240km @ 150kph with major cross wind on sealed hwy. I used the whole tank.***
