Choosing a tyre can be so hard

Hi guys, althogh i am riding a pegaso factory i think here is the best place to get an answer, the pegaso community is very small.

The pegaso factory is very similar to the XTX (same motor and spooked wheels) there for maybe you can help me decide which tire is the best for me, i am looking for the best grip\handling tire that will hold at least 6000miles (10,000km) i am a bit afraid that the sport touring tires will be too stiff on my bike because they were designed to heavy bikes and on the other end i really want a SM tire like the mutant or contiforce SM but not sure how long they will last with my autobahn rides.

Any thoghts?

Mutants are a fine tyre in general and last quite well ,mine are ready for the bin and i will be going bact to Avon Distanzias for extra grip in the twistes,if i was doing your rds i would go for Mutants but i know a lot of folk would not agree with this,i personally dont understand using a Z rated tyre on a H rated bike.:ignore:

My thought exactly the question is how many miles can i expect from the mutants or the distanzia ? i ride strong (using both sides of the tire:)) but always check my air pressure and when riding on long trips i always give an higher pressure, this seems to prolong the tires life.

Yet another question, i read allot on the distanzia here but do you mean the SM or the normal?

Thanks

97% of the information in the forum about the distanzias refers to the SM ones

I have Diablos on my XT and I'm quite happy with them. They seem to work quite well particularly when they have a little heath in them.
Saying that, I plan to replace the front with a Avon Pro Extreme wet as they get really good reviews from the supermoto guys.

That Avon ProXtreme outlasted 4 of my rear tyres Dries!! So yeah go for it, but don't bother with the same rear one as they wear before your eyes, stick a Distanzia on the back instead.

Yes. That's what the guy at FWR was saying. He's fitted them to his WR426. Very good in the front, but the rear would last less than 1000 miles on warmer roads he said.
I've got plenty of thread left on the rear Diablo, so that one will be staying on for a while, but I should get the front changed this or next week.

A small update: in the end because of my trips to the Alps that requires a long time on the highway i went with Metzler M3.
thanks for your help.
