Homemade Radiator Guard

I finally got around to making a metal mesh cover for the XT and took some pics.

The metal sheet was from B & Q 50cm x 25cm 5-10 - various styles are available.

I cut mine a little shorter to just fit over the original plastic opening but on the sheets above there is more than enough metal to make it bigger.

I fixed it to the plastic with tie straps.

Looks liike a great idea.

Does that rattle or make a lot of noise at all?

no noise at all - it sits fluch with the plastic cover.

I'm going to be redoing it - turns out the mesh I have is not that weather proof - looking a little brown after only 2 weeks!

I've got enough of the mesh left behinf to redo it full size to cover the whole grill. Going to get some primer and spray paint this time and use the existing bolts if I can find some spacers to make it fill flush.

Not sure if I should spray it silver to stand out or go for a black or garish blue or red?

Pics to follow when the missus says I can buy some paint.
