Hyperpro fork springs + kev's spacers on XTR

17 Attachment(s)
Today fitted Hyperpro springs/15W fork oil + kev's spacers on my XTR. Haven't got the time to test the new suspension, but it feels a lot stiffer! I'm still playing around with combining spacers+hp springs. Maybe also have to test without spacers. It's now solid like a rock, maybe a bit to much ;).
Please have a look at the pics.

Greetings from a cold Holland,

Sounds like you want a super stiff front end with that combo of items

Just playin' around ;)

excellent work and photos mate!!! :eusa_clap:

Nice work mate. I recon with out the spacers is the way to go.

I can see who will take the 2009 mods award.:occasion16:

Will try without spacers soon. Sure this is way to stiff, it doesn't feel right to me ;)
Forgot to mention that the HP springs are shorter, but the material diameter used is thicker. Original 0,53mm, HP 0,55mm. That's why they are stiffer than the original. Also thicker oil is used (10W original - 15W HP).

Kev: If you will do the stroker mod this year, for me you are again the winner of the mod awards 2009 ;)

Kev 04-01-09 22:25

It's not about the awards for me, it's about let get more torque & HP out of this motor.:toothy10:

My Raptor mod was basically to see if it can be done & how, now that we know it can be done, there will be many more coming soon with much bigger HP.

Took the bike for a test drive earlier this week to test the new shock. It was well predicted, you don't want to mix spacers+hyperpro springs!
So I removed the spacers again.

Though so.:coolsmiley:

Im using wilbers springs and those a lot (around 10-15cm shorter).
Special spacers were included of course.

Wilbers + 15w oil, the front end is a lot stiffer, wouldn't imagine using extra spacers in there.

Still waiting for my bash plate and new luggage carrier to arrive to finish with the mods for this year.
