Insurance renewal

I would just like to share a little tip with all of you guys in the UK.....

My bike insurance being due for renewal soon, every year when this happens, I start fishing around for the best deal until I am satisfied that what I have gone for is indeed the best quote.

A few weeks ago, I was approached at the Ace Cafe by an old gf of mine(to remain anonimous) who is now employed wih Carol Nash insurances.....

She totally did my head in going on about some backgrounds into Carole Nash insurance and blah blah...

She didn't really have to cause I mean, she was talking to me as a firend not as a rep/customer sort of thing, and she told me Fran I tell you this not cause I work there but, this company are trying to fight back on all those e-bike type insurance available on line and they will bend backward to beat whatever quote you get from all the major said to be cheap on line brokers such as http://www.ebikeinsurance.co.uk/ and all your Devitt, and others, and the best thing is you phone their free 0800 number and you get straight to through a person, without ANY of those annoying answering service, like press the hash key and all that blx, please listen to the following options sh|te.... no sir. One ring and you are answered by a human.

So I thought I'd try a few on line quotes first, and the best quote I got was from www.ebikeinsurance.co.uk and that alone already had beaten my present insurer renewal quote by 42.41.

infact I was about to go for ebike when I was lucky to remembered what that girl at the Ace told me and I thought ok Carole Nash here is your chance to impress me,

I phoned 0800 083 4422 and as promised the response was from a man, after going through the quote details, giving them my details their quote was another 26.33 cheaper than ebike, therefore saving me a total of 68.74 from what Devitt had proposed as a renewal quote!!! Boy was I impressed or WHAT?

So... I got the Carole Nash insurance sorted, I suggest you give them a try too on your next renewal date. You know it make sense :039: :039: :039:

I can agree with this - e-bike didn't want to quote for my wife on her 125 as she had a claim (handbrake broke on her car and it rolled down the drive into mine :014: )

Bennetts wanted 142 TPFT

Carole Nash - 102

We are going with CN for her.

Just call Carole Nash regarding a quote for me getting my new bike covered. They asked me my best quote so far, and when I told them, they said straight away that they could not beat it. They said their cheapest Comprehensive price is 140 including legal cover, and breakdown cover. Which my previous best quote had too.

So for me personally, Carole Nash did not work out any better. Perhaps they are better if you have no, or low no claims bonus, not sure why they have a fixed lowest price, never heard that before.

Good luck to you, if you try them.

If you look at it as less than 2.50 a week for full cover against thieving scrotes and demented cages - with european cover and recovery thrown in by Carole Nash - it's a pint a week. Not bad in my opinion.

My two bikes are covered for 201.81 last week - but then I am a BOF.

That is an excellent price. Mine was 181 fully comp with legal cover (age 35, 2yr NCB, clean license, no convictions) I was happy with that.

Has anybody actually tried Yamaha insurance....??? I called them earlier, and they said they would call back in a couple of minutes........2 hours ago..... Not a great start. I wont get their call today, i guess. I am just about to go to work... :-(
Have fun guys.

I wouldn't recomend it, Yamaha uses the RAC Group as insurance agents only, subletting the contracts to a group of individual brokers, i.e. too many middle men involved getting their cut.

Hay you's are all getting it easy, live in Norn Iron, most car or bike insurance people either just will not insure you or will slap a big extra on top of your quote.

Most of the online sites ask all your info before saying they will not insure you cause you come from norn iron, which is a real pain in the ass, as they all say get 10% off your quote or cheaper online etc etc

Being only 20 (i know too young to have any common sense) seems to send most of the insurers wild but i calm them down with my 2 soon to be 3 years no claims bonus. But once they here i want an extension so i can ride my dads varadero 1000 (only really for when my bikes getting serviced, puncture etc) most either just say no or charge stupid amounts. (extension is because i cant afford fully comp, so gives me the opposion of riding any one else fully insured bike on 3rd party only insurance)

The only insurance company i find good for me is Rampdale insurance. They nearly always seemed to be the cheapest for me and my dad but you have to push them to get any money off your renewal quote.
