Dunlop Sportmax Mutants

Just had these fitted to my XTX and on first impressions they turn into corners much easier than the Diablos that were on there before, a bit alarming at first ! Also the rubber compound seems quite a bit softer. I am always suspicious of tyres with large areas of smooth treadless rubber for riding on smooth wet roads, so the look of the tread pattern on these was reassuring straight away. I would not be surprised if they turned out to be a classic.

Mutants

Had some put on mine last friday, not had much chance to test them in the dry with the weather we have been having, but seem ok.

Dont look as good on the bike as the Distanzias though

That's right ultimately it boils down to what they look like !

theres nothing wrong with the mutants now done about 220 miles on them been good in the wet, damp, dry rds but im finding it hard to go to the edge after riding on Distanzias hopefully this will be sorted soon.I quite like the look of them

They are good aren't they. I would have to put my bike on a ferry to get 3hrs of dry roads ! It will be soon.

I will have to try Distanzias sometime later, so you have the advantage over me there as I have never tried them.

Slightly off topic Mattie but notice you are in Guernsey.
Isn't the speed limit there 35mph??????
How do you find that on your XT or is it a "flexible" limit

There are a few places where there are no exits/gateways and you can give it the beans round a lovely combo of 90' right - "long" sweeping left up hill slightly - left a bit - sweeping right and sweeping left again = 80+ but not every day. Only last week we had a young lad die in an accident - the first for a while but it is risky over here. A 660 is plenty for here, a 250 is ideal really.

Thats what i was thinking, it is not really a large island, remember going there on holiday as a kid and was only thinking yesterday that i would like to go back

How do Distanzia cope

How do the Distanzia cope with road surfaces like this ?

This was taken coming back from my mates this afternoon and is normal in winter (ie non summer)

Mutants cope fine going up or down this road and was wondering how Distanzias would cope with it.

I have had a set of Mutants fitted after trying to get the Avons everywhere with no luck
Only done about 60 miles on them due to the weather being ****e but they seem very sure footed once the weather improves and Meach organises another Midlanders meet will give them a good try...
