When I picked my Z'ed up I asked the dealer if they had fixed the problem with the dip stick and he said thet it had been sorted. They have made a stick with less thread length! That's all!
PD has anyone else had a problem with the welding on the sidestand spring? Mine was crap and I welded it myself, but if yours breaks 'on the go' the switch on the stand will kill the engine and couls possibly put you in a dangerous situation. Just an idea but worth a look. I also found myself using the round wire part to kick the stand down, I personally shall be making something much stronger. Should be getting the bike back from Metal Mule next week and plan to try and meet up with more Teneherics.
Another plan is to organise a meet up at Dent in the Northern Dales as I have organised meets ther before and it's Gods own country for these sorts of bikes. I have had interest from the Thumper club, Honda owners club and some persons in the BMW owners club. Sometime at the mid - end of October and I'll bring the marquee. I'll post dates when things start to come together.Anyone interested?

that was my first mod:
ignition off
pressing 2 buttons
turning ignition on (button still pressed)
kph/mph icon flashes

presse select to select your unit, then press reset.

Job done.

Just got back home from collecting my Tenere.
I've had a read of the owners manual :icon_study: to go about changing the speedometer to read in MPH, so no RTFMs please.:icon_mrgreen:

It say's to turn the ignition to 'ON', then press the 'SELECT' but for two seconds. But, after doing this, not change is visible and the clock still reads in KMs.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Timpo.

you need to press and hold select and reset then turn the ignition on this will let you set time and also mph or kph

MPH to KPH: A possible answer???

Ive had the same problem here, doing it by the book isnt the answer, apparently, so, with a phone call to a very handy Yamaha dealer, they say
Start with pressing the SELECT button before you turn on the ignition, turning the key with Select already down, leaving in down for a couple of seconds, then it should change.

There is a difference in how this is done depending on the year i have a 09 with and 08 manual and the instructions dont work for the 09 models. i vaguely remember the guy holding select with the key off.

Useful sticky ---

I'm halfway across europe with clock on the Ten showing two hours slow from last winter settings and speedo reading MPH. :ninja:

After reading this thread I should be able to sort things out before hitting the road again - thank you :eusa_clap:

Wow! ---

Just been for a ride up Feldberg Taunus with my new settings - surprising how slow it feels trundling through German villages on the legal limit :002:

Oh and it's nice to have real time without having to add a couple of hours :retard:

Not so nice to see my Ten has over 12 thou on the clock - didn't seem nearly as much in miles :099:

Best bit will be getting over 300 kms before filling up :brave:

Just bought a -11 Tenere with 13 k on the clock. And so far - so good. But I noticed the speedo shows around 10-12 % more than correct speed (GPS-speed) Thats quite annoying. What can be done to get the meter to show correct speed?
