new XT seems fine

Maybe cos I've been riding 35 years and bikes are much better than they were years ago... My new XT (picked up today with 2 miles on clock) seems fine. No snatch on pickup, only very slight surging (which I'd espect from a tight new single anyway but barely detectable). It's an '08 - but I don't think it's any different from the '07 (Kev will know). I think some Xts have the tickover set too low (should be about 1300 - 1400 rpm - higher than multis). That wouldn't help. Luckily the XT has an adjuster, unlike most fuel injected bikes. Would turning it up a bit help? Just a thought....

Idle should be between 1400 to 1500 rpm.

There is no difference in the fueling mapping between the 07/08 XT660 that we know of as yet.

Please post your full ECU numbers on the front of the ECU then unbolt the ECU & post all the numbers on the back side please & I will tell you if there has been a software update.

By the way you have set your CO1 to get it better, it may be a 07 model & has a faulty engine ECU.

I just got a 07 model today and I have two noob questions. :)
What is ECU and how would I know if my bike is one of those faulty ones? :p
