Can you check that it is the 412-411 (for 2004-2005 Yamaha XT660-R) ?

That plug doesn't look like any on my two Power Commanders nor is there a grey? lead on mine.

Two plugs go in-line to the main wiring harness and two go in-line of the throttle position sensor whilst the battery lead goes to the negative terminal - not the power supply.

This are the numbers... what do you think? I bought it used as PC for Yamaha XT 660 2004.
Yes, i didnt mean power supply. Battery negative. My english is poor. Im sory.

The plugs above are the TPS at the top and the main loom and battery connections lower.

I think you may have the wrong connectors for the XT660R - the 412-411 is for several different bikes.

Weren't there 2 different versions of the PCIII for our bike ? I remember someone posting that the newer version was more "plug and play".

Yes - but I think the previous version had loose wires that had to be soldered into the loom. This one appears to have an incorrect plug on it and it suggests to me that it may therefore have different firmware. Mine are both labelled 412-410 for 412-411 416-411 422-411 926-411 with a serial number on one of them that shows date of manufacture as 2003.

I hope you are right for Mattithyahu's sake and that someone else on the forum can advise him.

edit: just looked again at the other PCIII and I think I read the date the wrong way round - they both show 070603 so perhaps it is March 6 2007 or June 3 2007 and not July 6 2003 or June 7 2003. I do remember dropping five points on my USA IQ test 'cos of reading dates wrongly.

I remember that post. It was Kev that said that.

Yawn...

Hmmm... that red connector I'm asking about looks like a "cutting connector" It as sharp V shaped inside so you can press a wire through it and it cuts wire protection and makes a connection. But what wire to cut?

WTH is this? Look, english and german manuals are different! YAWN!

http://www.powercommander.com/downlo...eng412-411.pdf
http://www.powercommander.com/downlo...ger412-411.pdf

See? In german manual there is 1 picture more! Is that it? Is this that cutting connector? Looks like it, doesnt it?
In picture B you can see 2 connectors as I have them, picture C is about locating TPS and picture D (german) is about cutting it! Right? Any Germans here? Please.

Any opinions? Am I right? I hope I wont cut wrong wire... yawn. Damn lazyas*es could at least make a color manual...

Thanx for you help all! If you get some new information please post it.

The are two types of PCIII for our bikes.
Do not connect anything other wise you may damage the power commander. Single wire is for the TPS & the big 6mm terminal is battery neg, so wait for me to post the answer tonight for me & I will post the photos tonight for you.

I wont connect anything. Im quite carefull when it comes to my bike :) I sure will wait for your post.

Meanwhile I have a new question: I found in some post that someone had a problem with that cut TPS wire: he said it broke in place where PC wire was cut because vibrations. How to prevent that?

And another question: After I install PC to my motorcycle I will connect it to notebook with USB. Must be engine running whenI try to load new map? Im afraid to damage PC or notebook that way ^^

Thanx!!!
