Hand guards

Hi, just purchased a set of original Yam hand guards for my XTX 07. Having afew problems fitting them. Anyone please able to help me on this one?
Some photo's would help. It seems to be the handle bar brace clamps are part of the problem.

Are you fitting the part that goes to the extremities of the handle bars on the outside of the bar end weigths??

Please explain in more details the problem you are having with the brace clamps, thanks

You have to place them just below that thin connection rod on handlebar and face the downward.

When I get home tonight I will post a few pics of them fitted if no one does before hand ok.

Hand guards

Hi,

Now sorted. The trick is to remove the cross bar between the clamps. Line up and loosly fit the guards and then re fit the cross bar a little messing around and hey presto. Just take care when tightening every thing up, do it in a sequence ensuring no wires are trapped and nothing is pulling against the steering etc.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers Al:041:

on all the pictures that i saw on ther internet people mounted their hand guards over the bar weights, but i removed mine because in terms of weight the bar weights are replaced by weight of handguards (i dont need more weight) and also motorcycle becomes narrower (which is especialy important in my garage).

well it's pissing down here so i got some time to fit mine. i also removed the bar ends and all seems ok. also had to remove that crossbar.
