Givi solution

Hello All,

I need to fit a topcase on my 2007 XTX. Has anyone already done it? I have been talking to givi.at and they have no mounting kit for this bike. Hepco-Becker has a 52L topcase (Journey52) which accomodates 2 helmets (the bigger, the better :D) but I don't know if they have the mounting kit for 2007XTX.
Please help asap because I will be traveling to Vienna next week and I want to buy it there (there aren't many topcase dealers where I live).

PS: does anyone know if the givi topcase (E52) can be mounted on any other system from another manufacturer?

ebay

Shows a Yam XT specific mounting - quote the part number SR353M to the dealer.

SWMotech sell a rack that you can get a Givi adapter plate with, should fit any Givi luggage (they actually sell adapter plates for most manufacturers I went for the H&B adapter plates on the SWMotech Pannier Racks for 15 but I could just as easily change those plates to suit any other luggage).

@motonacio: that is the mounting for 2006
@mc: it does not seem very strong. does it touch the tail. it seems that the whole weight off the topcase will be on the tail. http://www.sw-motech.com/produkt/ind...&marken_id=101
mounting instructions: http://www.sw-motech.com/anbauanleit..._281_100_b.pdf
I am looking for something to hold 5kg topcase + 5kg load at least.

I can only speak of the pannier racks I got from them which, whilst not being used to carry panniers, double as a cunning crash bar system and support the weight of the bike very well (even when flipping the bike over twice ;) ) as the big rusty scratch marks on mine can demonstrate. I have a set of H&B Panniers that I load to the brim and they've never shifted or broken away once. I've clipped a few fence posts, gates and cages with 'em and other than an un-nerving wobble they've done exactly as they say on the tin.

What sort of capacity/weight limits does SWMotech suggest they're capable off? I would give 'em a call, they were very helpful with me when my brain stopped working whilst trying to order my stuff. :tongue3:
