Done It Meself -- Chuffed!!!
Going on a 3 week 4000km ride around Turkey in two weeks time, so I thought I'd make my own pannier racks rather than fork out a couple of hundred €€€'s. I bought some Kappa soft sling overs for when I went on a week long ride & had them resting slightly on the cans. There wasn't a problem with heat, but more with them sagging over, especially when fully loaded.
Anyway, here are the pics of my handy work, I got my mate to do the welding though... http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/750/pict3883ff9.jpg http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5157/pict3884cd7.jpg http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/1084/pict3889ei3.jpg http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/7936/pict3892gn6.jpg http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/589/pict3888fx2.jpg So what do you guys reckon? The only thing I'm thinking of is putting a longer bolt through the zorst bracket. If you look in the picture you'll see it does not thread all the way through? |
I HAVE BEEN THINKING THE SAME ABOUT DOING MY OWN AND LOOKING AT YOUR HANYWORK I HAVE DECIDED TO DO THE SAME ,THANKS FOR THE IDEA:sunny: WHAT CANS ARE THOSE
