Is that Biggin's Hill?

Yes, It's the entrance to the old RAF aerodrome. A top place for photos. I do a bit of a blog on a biker site but it's dying at the moment. Here is the entry for that day if your interseted.

Work work work.

Just work and no play makes Statik a dull etc etc etc. Nothing has happened, just life going on and no one died. Work work work.

Me and Keef went for a spin today to put some miles on the bikes. His Duke is still the ugliest thing I would love to own but given a choice would buy another XT. I just wish they would improve the quality and not go for the lowest price. New one coming out in February next year so I hear so will give it a look. Exhaust sensor and a re-map incuded.

We came across a SM KTM 640 who thought was doing well until we slipped passed both sides on a tight bend. At the next set of lights he asked where I had the Yam tuned. I told him "bog standard" and he didn't believe us. Again we left him at the lights. Mind you we missed the stop at the lakes we had planned. Sorry buddy next time round. All day it felt like we could have gone quicker, but I don't think so. Met a bloke on a Triumph with the big three cylinder monster thing with a two point something engine at a set of lights in Orpington. I leant across and told him he lost his caravan. I think he said "fluffy goo". No it was f*ck you.

Looked at some new bike gear and ended up buying an Arai helmet and Sidi boots. Now I have to repaint the bike to match, working on a design as I write this waffle. The bloke in the shop said there was a section just for girls. Just what I was looking for, mine doesn't function anymore in some area's so I was looking for a later model or new parts. See my face when they only sold bike gear. Bummer.

Seems pointless writing this drivel if no one reads it. Is there a blog spot on this site?

Thanks mate, looks like a nice place. Can't think why I don't use it more. Must be loosing the plot in my old age.

Hi AFK40, it's just wide enough to cover the tread (no it isn't). It's just a wobbly bit of nothing really so it moves about a bit. One day it sticks up at the front another day at the back. Strong enough to stop the sh*t smacking me in the face but weak enough to break if it gets tangled. The only down side is it makes the bike look a bit "DATED" if you know what I mean.

By the way don't tell me you like my stories too much or they will never stop.

Well I think it looks OK as well. The only difference is that I like the combo of high front with a lower bit at the back as per the 'R' (Wonder what it would look like on a 'Z' ed?)

How did you go about doing that? I've wanted to do that myself (matt black) but have been told that spraying plastic is nigh on impossible unless you know what you're doing or spend bucks paying someone else to do it...

statik 12-12-08 23:03

Plastic bumper paint from Halfords. Do it on a dry day. I did mine in the garage on a wet day and it dried patchy. Did it again in the dry and it looks OK but I ran out half way so one side looks good and the other side is crap.

statik 12-12-08 23:07

Never did like the two part mudguard. It's just done to get air into the radiator because Yamaha was too toght to fit a two part rad. My radiator has KTM stamped on it, is that normal?

Denny 12-12-08 23:22

Any prep required, or did you simply spray it on?
