700 ???? ... my ctr is showing 5400 km or cca 3400 miles and still running on original tyre, with no reason of renewing it

I got around 3000miles out of my first tyre (XT660R Spirac) now on my 3rd at using metzlar tourance which seems to be a very good tyre... I have done around 1000 miles with no real squaring off.

ok...post the letter to yamaha company to improve next version of XT by installing an inclinometer...reason: to realize squaring-out of rear tyre or whatever

I have 3500 Km on my odo now. Has started to search for replacement as the back wheel will pass still approximately 500 kilometers. What to choose from below listed:
P.Diablo
M. Pilot Road
or ...?

miczat 26-06-07 22:04

My OEM rear lasted 7000km. Got 10,000 out of the OEM front (exact opposite wear pattern to my R6 that was much harder on the front...)

I've changed to Mich Pilot Roads, and I've got 14,000km out of my second rear so far (i.e. double OEM).

(And yeah, I'm just commuting)...

oem means original equipment manufacturer - that is the third party manufacturer who supplied Yamaha with the original equipment - in this case the tyres - they could be one of several different tyres fitted as 'standard' in different places.

richard 28-06-07 00:21

ithought everybody got the same mine were sirac and ifitted them again ...very happy with them:HappyRoll_ANPIUI:

motonacio 28-06-07 00:27

I obviously need to lose weight 'cos I'm going to have to change mine before I see 4000 km. :sad8:

My 660XTX is up to 6000km and both tyres still look and perform ok....

mash101 27-02-12 14:55

Changed my Pirelli Dragons at 2000 miles = 3200 km.
Horrible in damp, wear out WAAYYY too fast!! Pilot Road 3s done over 1500 miles so far, with almost no sign of wear. Excellent in cold/damp - hardly need to warm them up!

66T 21-02-13 08:22

OEM rear Tourance 11,000 km... Highish pressure on-road seems to be the go ie 37psi.
Next Tourance 1700km. A sharp rock busted the carcass. Annoying.

BikerSteve46 21-02-13 18:39

Lol mine lasted maybe 250 miles. Looked rather new when I bought the bike, went on it to work one night and when I was leaving in the morning after a night of -5/6 degrees Celcius, I hit a patch of ice and as my tyre span up on it, it ended up going down to the stitching inside. Then when I went to get it replaced, I found out the OEM tyres for the XTX have been discontinued apparently so I ended up with a Pirelli Corsa on the rear and OEM on the front. No complaints about it though, feels even better than the OEM rear.

OEMs on my 08 Tenere were Metzeler Tourances and lasted almost 20.000km.... After three sets of Tourances(each around the same mileage), I switched to Heidenau K60 Scouts, now already 15.000kms and still not shot.....Great tyres too, imho better then the Tourances.

Gandiva 27-04-13 03:36

oem mileage

OEMs on my 2011 tenere (Metzeler Tourance) at 15000klm (rear-all gone, front- 5% left). great road tire (wet or dry) and on hard pack dirt (dry only). sand clay wet grass ~ forget abouditt!!
trying the k6o scouts next up
