Just an update on these : http://www.getgeared.co.uk/acatalog/...e_Bag_Set.html

As standard they dont fit the XT660 well, I had to ditch the underseat piece and adapt the straps to connect them up. Unfortunately the 'rucksack' clips that connect to the bags are poor and it was less than ideal.

What I have done now is used one bungee going under the seat, and one going around the handrail and plastic back bit to secure the bags. This actually works really well and easily survived a 65 mile trip to work down the A38 and M6 at illegal speeds.

They survived better than me I reckon, whats the best touring type screen by the way ? :-) (and why does the damn thing stall after a high speed run ... :-( )

All in all, ditch the fixing kit and use a couple of bungees and I think they are still good value for money and of course when u take the bags off there is no evidence they were ever there. Big Bonus :-)

In addition the standard XT exhaust heat shields prevent any damage to the bags, they barely get warm. Hope this helps someone looking for cheap, occasional luggage.

Cheers - Steve

A pair of Zega's on a Touratech rack would be cheaper I think - that's if you can pry the kit out of TT :icon_sad:.
