Battery and headlight

Hi folks, I recently changed my battery and headlight doesn't turn on before starting engine. After stopping the engine headlight still turns on. I wonder does tenere turn on its headlight before engine start or my battery isn't properly charged ?

The headlight will only come on when the engine is started.
When the engine runs it will stay on.
If you stop the engine with the kill switch the headlight will stay on.

Thanks man, I was hoping to hear that. I couldn't remember if it turns on or not before engine is started. I thought maybe battery isn't charged enough to turn on headlight.
