if you're not already aware . gotta say though....sadly....the KTM looks worth of every inch of the extra 3 grand..........plus it has a 20 litre tank compared to Yammy's 15 (215 mile rnge -v- 280 which is a big thing out in Dakar) and has better components....buy a T7 and a jerry-can from your local petrol station unless you're only playing in the local fields.......Just my trolling opinion. |
Yes, I sat on both the KTM and the T7...and the KTM appeared to be a higher spec/quality bike. Having said that the T7 would probably get my vote for it's relative simplicity. Although having spent time and money getting my Tenere just how I like it the T7 will have to be a brilliant ride to make me change bikes! I did take the new Triumph scrambler XE out for a couple of hours on Saturday....a great bike and lovely to ride. It just feels a bit strange on bikes with no cockpit or fairing after being used to the Tenere. So many nice bikes out there! Steve

this Triumph does get good reviews, but still... it does look like a jacked-up streetbike, knowing what the original design looks like (Bonneville)...
i'm not saying this bike is no good, imo it just doesn't fit in the same caregory as the tens |
looks promissing. For me, near 200kg (dry?) is too much. Don't know how heavy the 660 tenere was.
Would look forward to see a simnplified R version of it |
