Drilled airbox BUT now what do I do??????????

As above I drilled 4 holes (2each side)
Throttle response struggling a little if I blip it a little very quickly, what can I do to resolve?

More air = more fuel needed.

Thanks Kev! I get that but how should I go about it and thanks for reply on stickers I never got to reply apologies. If I had to choose, would a aftermarket filter, a side box cover filter or your fuel/air mod be the way to go, or aftermarket cans?

Appreciate the help I'm a newbie

Im not Kev..but yes...more air in through the sides, snorkle out and stage 1+2 DNA airfilters(flow more air than k+n).
Stage 1 is replacing standard filter.
Stage 2 is the replacement of the air box side panel with a complete air filter.
Free er flowing zorst..I have Arrow can's,fecking awesome sound.
Both Kev's mod's. No power gains but makes the bike soo responsive and arguably how it should have left the factory.
Kev's throttle mod.

Enjoy!!

I'm probably wrong but I think, possibly;-

Stage one is changing the paper filter for a free breathing version.

Stage two is the removal of the air filter snorkel in lieu of an open top filter cap

Stage three is the removal of the air box side panel and replacing it with an air filter.

They all increase cooler air draw and 1+2+3, by definition, would require the most additional fuel to air mix.

There's nothing nicer than hearing that 'induction roar' but I would respectfully suggest riding a bike with uncorrected fueling, especially prolonged use in the upper rev range, could cause significant damage to the piston crown or valve seats. (you have now effectively leaned out your air fuel ratio)

Thanks for response guys, I'm new to the xt not new to bikes so I know how they work and I do my own work but back to my original question re having drilled the box, for now what can I do to improve throttle response and balance the mix with the additional holes.
Thanks again

I gave the response...now you have introduced more air the stock set up is as far as I know now outta whack. Kev's fuel mod allows some re calibration and the O2 mod is simply a plug and play thing.

IF you have a Z then as said the whole air box is removed and replaced with various K+N filters and in essence a skeleton framework..that's Stage .
R+X stages 1+2 as I said.

I did the filters first, stages 1+2 then drilled the airbox.

Kev's throttle mod helps with the twitchy throttle. Its free as you basically extend the radius of the cable by drilling/filing the factory groove (man).

its in here somewhere.
