Diy Kev mod thoughts

Hi,
I am reading a lot about the temp sensor mod, as i want to do it to my bike, but somehow i read a lot that you have to use the air temp sensor and the coolant temp sensor... my question is, why do i need to fool the coolant temp sensor? from my thoughts I only need to mod the air temp sensor.
any advice would be nice ;)

Ps. how many degrees cooler should it be for a standart bike with only aftermarket open cans? and how many for open cans and air box mod?

Thanks
Jonas

The last time we used the coolant temp sensor was back in 2005, my adjustable fuel mod since 2005 only uses the air temp sensor for increasing the AFR.

ok thanks Kev,
but could you quickly explain what fooling the water temp sensor does to the A/F ratio? Im just interested ;)

Altering the coolant temp changes the AFR in the mapping tables the same as the air temp sensor. The colder the engine temperature is in relation to the ambient air temp sensor the richer the AFR will be, we can see this when we measure the AFR in real time.
