I bought a Caberg Tourmax a month ago or so. Has the peak / clear visor / flip front and an internal drop down sun visor. A very nice looking lid and well made but.....unlike my HJC, it suffered from turbulence on the peak causing too much noise and wobbly eye syndrome at speeds above 50. I reinforced the peak and fitted air dams to the bike which cured the problem.

I nearly wrote the lid off as a bad buy but it's coming into its own, especially with the lift up front. I've fitted a scala rider intercom, with boom mike, and the microphone fits in a designed slit in the chin bar, made to accept any boom mike. Check out this thread. I know it's a pain if you've spent large dollars on a lid only to find you need to go all "Blue Peter" on your bike to make life easy again.

But....I still prefer my Arai.

I wear glasses all the time... but would love to find some way off not having too...other than contacts or surgery.

Over glasses may be the answer.

TBH If I ride with the visor down I tend to ride faster which I dont want..psychological I guess.

Never really thought that air could be coming up from the forks causng the wobble and blurred vision ...that perspex looks a good idea (does it stop the blurred vision/ head wobble thing) ?

It did........but after some miles under the belt I found the perspex was over the top a bit but became more of an alternative to the upper cushions. Fit one or the other but not both.....for me anyways..

Ide prob loose the cushions tbh as i do alot of off roading so gunna try the perspex thing

Great to hear you've had success. Thanks for the feedback. .:023:

No probs bud...i did make em out of 5 mm perspex just to try it and its solid enough so we see how long it lasts

Chalk Two 16-06-18 12:10

Yep, I would have preferred 5mm . 4mm is ok and was all i had lying around but i have to be careful not to cause stress fractures around the fixing holes by over tightening.

Garbo 16-06-18 13:13

It seems sturdy enough up to press but i suppose time will tell....if it does break or shatter ile prob do it out of ally
