Faulty O2 sensor?

Hello,

Yesterday on a trip the warning light started flashing 2 long 4 short, meaning a problem with the O2 sensor.

As far as I know, the bike has no modifications here...I notice the bike is shaking more now, and consuming a lot more fuel...

What should I check first, any ideias? And if I need to replace the o2 sensor, how to do it? I hear its quite expensive? :/

Also, I see in ebay some 02 sensor elimination plug, whats that about? I have zero knowledge on FI..... :/

Thanks for your help!!

We have seen a few O2 sensor pack up over the years, double check the connector at the O2 sensor, unplug the sensor then lightly pull in the wires on the male & female connector to make sure they are locked into the connector.

O2 eliminators don't work on the XT660's.

I see you have just bought one of my O2 controllers, you need to have a working O2 sensor for the O2 controller to work.
