Puncture.

Went for a ride this morning, I'd done around 50 miles and just fancied a bite to eat and a cuppa.
Dropped onto the A5 north of Towcester to drop in at Jack's Hill Caf and as I turned to go into the car park the steering had gone real heavy and a tad wobbly.
Puncture thinks I and unfortunately I wasn't wrong.
Couple of hours later my sister in law draws up with the horse box and gives me a ride home.
I went 20+yrs without a puncture on the road and now I've had 2 in under 6 months, one on my old YR5 350 late last year and today on the Z, c'est la vie I suppose.

Pete, it's something I sincerely dread although I carry two tubes, a micro 12v pump, a full Kriega tool kit and Motion Pro bead breaker levers, plus tyre lube. I change my own tyres and I know what an rs it is on the Z and don't fancy fixing a tube where I live in 30C+ degree heat, up the mountains, and minus any form of RAC. I know that day will come...

Sadly it happens. Last year I put a new set on tyres on my fz1. 240 they fitted them I left the shop done around 35 miles and got a puncture cost me another rear tyres at a cost of 130 fitted the same day, As you can not legally fix z rated tyres. I have goop in my tyres now, so at least if I get a nail in my tyre I should still be able to get home.

Every cloud has a silver lining I suppose, could have been in the third lane on a motorway and have a tubed tyre go.
Over the years I've had some real sphincter tightening moments with tubes when they've gone, monumental tank slappers and slides depending on which end had let go.

Punctures are like buses, you go so long and then they all come at once. Myself hadn't had a puncture on a trail ever, last year off road in Pyrenees had three in front and one in rear......oh happy days, and they were mitas....need arms like Popeye ...lol

Gave the wrestle with the levers a miss this morning, bought a tube for 10 from Corby Kawasaki and Tanvic Tyre used their machine and changed the tubes for 10.
Went for a ride in the rain instead of doing battle with a reluctant tyre.
I hate tyre changes, I'm getting too old for the fight.
