New rear wheel and sprocket bearings fitted.
I could feel a bit of fore and aft play in the rear sprocket carrier and I knew they can eat up cush drive rubbers and hub bearings, so I thought i'd just order them all up and over haul it. I'd also read packing out the cush drive with inner tube was a good idea, so I did that whilst I was about it. :)

hi,
really nice idea :) lets assume that it wont use the rubber more... the friction waiting for a long test update :D |

Not my idea though! I saw it on here and decided as i was rebuilding the back hub i might as well do it. I've heard of people packing out cush drives before on other makes of bikes too, so it seemed a tried and tested method. The cush drive rubbers I took out didnt look bad at all, but there was a fair bit of play in the rotation of teh hub, where as there is none now. :) |
