Fuel Sensor problem?
Hi
I had to drain all the petrol from the fuel tank as I'd left the fuel filler open and I was worried it might of got water in through it. I siphoned the tank and then used a clean rag to soak up the rest. Now the fuel gauge is showing empty and flashing all the time, it work absolutely fine before this? Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks Roger |
Did you refill it?..had to ask..
Personally id check you have remade any electrical connections you may have undone/disturbed. And/or I'd disconnect the battery to reset everything. BUT thats me. |
+1 on disconnect 12v and reconnect if that fails add 2 or 3 litres of fuel to the empty tanks and physically shake the tank off the bike to dislodge a stuck fuel level sender float that may have been 'poked' or locked down by a syphon tube.

Hi did not disconnect anything when I drained the tank and refilled it :). I will try the battery disconnect and see if that helps
Thanks Roger |
you maight have disturbed the low fuel sensor with the hose or most probably the cloth.
may have to take it out to inspect |
while you take the fuel sensor out, can it be adjusted for proper ,correct indication on the dislay? (not leaving us with +-7 liters of reserve)...
