I think the XTR has a diagnostic mode available to you from the dashboard clocks. You'll need to look up some posts here to find how to access them and what each diag code means. I have a Yamaha F1 daig tool for my Tenere (which doesn't have a clock diagnosis system ) and having the ability to read the ECU and other settings is very handy. Keep us posted with a result

Just thought that if the fluid level was low it would contribute to overheating. If the thermostat is stuck open/closed (assuming its like a cars) it would cause overheating/airlocks

It wont go into diag mode at all when in this state :/

Yeah i get what you mean, didnt get chance to pull anything apart today but will do when i get a chance
