Cam chain replacement

Hi just purchased a 660r and am wondering how many miles the cam chain should be replaced it has done 9500 miles so if anyone can shed some light on it please

Would not worry about it mate an less it starts making a bad rattling noise it’s not a part changed on mileage . I have seen the xt660 with over 30.000 on them still on same cam chain. Seen a cbr 929 with 97,000 miles on it still on same cam chain. If bike has been looked after and serviced regularly I would not worry about it. I have two 2007 xt660r both still on the original cam chains.

Personally first job for me on any new bike /car is an oil and filter change.

Maintaining the oil and filter is a MUST imho.

Keep it stock or mod it?..hmmm...MOD IT!!!

It's all in the forum as is Kev's MOD cd(which is actually a download).

Lots of easy mods starting from a KEV mod to firm up the front end,to his mods to sort running issues.

Best 10 mod I made was to join the forum!!
