Turn lights working but indicator not
Hi guys,
Need some help here, I replaced the two fron turn lights, which are working (when pressing the alarm) but the indicator or the hazard lights do not. I tried going back to the old lights, but still the indicator doesnt work. I tried also checking the relay (swapping with another) and checking all the fuses. Also no clicking sound either. I opened the indicator box and all seems ok. Any ideas??????? |
Neither front or back indicators work?..Are they standard or aftermarket?..
All 4 works, but only when pressing the alarm, not when clicking the indicator or hazard.
Have you tried an actual turn signal relay?
I swaped the one i have from another bike and still didnt work.
Did/does the original work on the donor bike?
Yes it does. Is there any other part that is linked to the indicator that o can check?
only thing i can think off is to spray electrical contact cleaner in the switch itself
....have you taken it apart at all?.. |
Sounds like the two new indicators are LED you need an aftermarket relay that works with both options you can get them off eBay.
Thanks. Will try.
Ermmmm I did ask if the indicators were genuine or aftermarket....
so, i tried the spray electrical contact cleaner, didn't help. and now i'm noticing the ignition is a bit slow (the battery is new) and the tail light only works when braking and not during drive. @waynovetten, you mentioned a relay, should i be looking at a specif model or any relay is good?
Although the battery is 'new' is it charged?..holding a charge?
is the headlight working?..is the bikes charging system working?.. Any led relay will work with AFTERMARKET led indicators.. are all four genuine or aftermarket led's?..or a combination of both?.. |
sorry, didn't catch that :)
front two are led, back are genuine currently (just ordered another set). Head lights working also, as for battery charging - how is this checked? https://www.wish.com/search/let%20tu...7e361bb280d04e https://www.wish.com/search/let%20tu...7e361bb280d04e Voltage: 12V LED Number: 12 The power of each lamp is 0.85w) |
All four need to be either led or genuine/oem/normal bulb type.
Ebay for a flasher unit, something like this or similar http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle...item4b192c2aaf IF everything was ok before the change to led indicators then its a good bet an appropriate relay will sort. |
thanks for the link! all good now.
