Keys fuel mod

Hi all
Does anyone know if it's OK to fit the fuel mod without fitting the 02 controller. I will buy one but not for a few weeks. I have just added aftermarket cans done the air box snorkel mod added a K&N air filter and the keys fuel mod should be here next week so want to fit it straight away. But will not have the 02 controller for a few weeks. Title should say kevs fuel mod not blood keys predictive crap

Ive got pretty much the same set up as you & the mod made a big difference. haven't got round to getting the O2 mod yet but its on my list

The kevs fuel mod does not work without the 02 sensor fitted if you have the 2007 bike on with the sensor on the headers

Not my experience and I have the said 07 with a Lamba.

I asked kev 3 days ago who makes them as I just bought the fuel mod for my 07 xt660r and I asked him is it ok to fit the fuel mod before the 02 controller turns up as not bought it yet buying it this week. And he said no you have to fit the 02 controller with the fuel mod or the OEM 02 sensor on the bike stops the fuel mod from doing its job And he is the one that makes them ? He said if you fit the fuel mod the OEM 02 sensor will just take the extra fuel away that the fuel mod adds so you have to fit both mods for it to work right which make perfect sense.here is his reply to me asking the question......

‘You can fit the fuel mod but the O2 sensor will just take the fuel away that you add, yes you need both mods to work together’

To clear things up & give a more detailed explanation but wont go right into depth, the adjustable fuel mod & O2 controller for a XT660 with O2 sensor target different areas of the fuel injection system.

The Adjustable fuel mod will alter/correct the open loop mapping under accelerations & higher rev ranges, it corrects the AFR for hardware that has been fitted like free flow pipes & free flow air filters & lean AFR's in the open loop mapping.

The O2 sensor closed loop circuit only works at part throttles when your throttle is steady & will remove any fuel added by the adjustable fuel mod in this area only at part throttles, as soon as you start to accelerate the ECU switches to the open loop & the Fuel mod will come into play again.

When we fit a Fuel mod + O2 controller the O2 controller corrects that lean AFR in the closed loop at part throttles the whole throttle AFR range open & closed loops are nice & smooth with a rich AFR.

I was quite pleased with my fuelling mod but not half as much as the Power Commander I currently run.

Two different tuning tools, the fuel mod adjusts the Yamaha fuel map across the whole map, a PCV corrects each fuel cell within the Yamaha fuel map.

One is cheap to buy the other costs 5 times more, if one has the funds I would always recommend a PCV with a custom Dyno tune.

Not sure why you contacted me through EBay as you have my direct Email address or a PM here would work better.

EBay has been giving me a hard time lately, I had my EBay account suspended for 7 days a few weeks back as they suspected I was trading out of EBay & I was not, I direct someone to this forum for fork spacer mod measurements, I don't even sell the spacer mod on EBay or anywhere but they still suspended my account for 7 days, so I am very limited on what I can & cant say on EBay, I cant even say contact me on the XT forum as that would be classed as trading out of EBay & would lead to a 30 day suspension. If anyone ever needs to get hold of me a PM on this forum would be my first choice.

Yes sorry kev when I went to ask kev on this site it said I could not use it. So just bought it on eBay. And yes ebay are getting really funny. Anyway look forward to getting the 02 controller and getting both mods on.

eBay are clamping down a lot on trading outside of ebay, I received a warning from them recently.
One way round it 'possibly' Kev could be to include the forum address in your pics (as a sticker on a bike maybe) as I would imagine they are scanning messages and print for '.coms' etc.

www.xt660.com is in my EBay Ad just cant directly tell people to come here & see what the forum offers & buy the mods cheaper.

NO do not put a photo with any web or contact info they are clamping down on that as well from the end of last month. Any info at all in a listing that gives out any info leading to outside contact and you will be band from eBay. I run an eBay business and people ask sometimes can they visit to try stuff on and I have to say no. They have to buy the item first then they can come try it on and if they dont want the item then I can refund them. You just can not risk it anymore

thanks Kev the 02 controller turned up today just fitted it with the fuel mod. any hints on setting in the cold
