Think I would have to go for arrow as they are quite. If not the owner of Beowulf exhaust is a friend of mine so would get them from him. But I really do need quite cans if pos. taking bike out in morning for first ride so will know what I will have to do to it by the time I get home. My last one had all the mods done to it so shifted ok

Could do with some link pipes maybe

Took bike out and to my surprise it was as smooth as feck. BUT I took a risk and bought a almost new used set of aftermarket exhaust price I just could not say no to if to loud will just get rid and the kevs fuel mod so will do the air box mod and filters may as well do the lot and see if I can get some extra horses out of it. I found at 100mph it was struggling a bit. My other xt660x was fine at that speed but had all the mods on it. One thing I did find with the R something just not right about the riding position and anything over 85mph front don’t half start to wobble but as most of the riding is under 80 guess it will not be a problem. Can anyone let me know has anyone changed the front sprocket at all and is it worth it

Have you considered doing the fork mod?..
At the end of the day the R isnt designed as a high speed cruiser..its a 'sit up n beg' riding position..Im 6'2" and effectively an air brake when riding ... Dont get me wrong, she sure does fly along nicely,as does my mates..I have the two DNA air filters and snorkel removed,Arrow cans, and Kevs mods fitted. My mate has Kevs mods and MTC cans with the snorkel removed. Mine pulls smoother and is slightly faster BUT Im four stone heavier and 6 inch taller than him.. IMHO the 'best' mod so far has been to fit new Avon Trailmasters..to both bikes. |
Yeah I am taking the crap Tourance tyres off and putting on some Avon or bt45 think I will go for the Avon on this bike , I have Bridgestones on all my other bikes but the Avon Wright up was good but I am going for a road tyre not half and half I like to get the bike over and all my riding will be on road as going to get a ktm 250 exc for some green laning fun what is the fork mod

Basically a spacer the sits on top of oem spring..dimensions are 38mm wide x 30 mm high..
I used an old frame slider that my Brother turned up on a lathe. |
