Coolant level
 

Dear friends,

I have a '06 XTR for 3,5 months. I love it :) But not about the cooling system. 2 times I filled coolant by expansion tank. But today, i saw water lever in under low mark. So decided to check coolant level in radiator.

I will open radiator cap but not sure on which level coolant be in radiator. Must it be full with coolant-water?

I tell steps, please check them and correct me if I am wrong.

1- Open caps of both radiator and expansion tank.
2- release water fom expansion tank by make it upside down.
3- release water from radiator by unscrew nut at the down of the bike.
4- screw nut again.
5- Full the radiator from radiator cap (or which level?)
6- fill water to expansion tank up to high level.

I answer my question, I opened radiator cap to fill water. What I saw! :fing23:

10 years old, rusted, deformed cap!

This is why water level gets low.

I need to replace it. Is this cap universal or do I have to buy a cap for XTR?
