I have been having a play and have discovered the banners do not appear in "Classic XT660.com" style, which is my preferred viewing option, only in "Andromeda" style. I am using firefox, I might not be the only one that didn't know this, so was unable to help.

Are you viewing in "Classic XT660.com"mode?

CaptMoto 15-11-17 19:16

It's not looking pretty people....

Clicking banners has once again flopped and we are making next to no profit every day

For example yesterday it was 1.50 and today 2.82

We need your army to start marching on the banners again people

Please help.

Cheers

nikroc 16-11-17 09:30

Lads, we need more clicks...

We are starting to reverse back, and the lack of clicks is eating into the profit that was accrued last month.

See attached screenshot

Thank you to all those who are continuing to help

Hey hey!! what's happened to your clicking on the banners.

Counts have once again gone below the red line. Come on guys keep up and support the forum by clicking on the advert banners like you don't care :D

:rolltfl:

Let's do it everyone

Thanks

Have a look at the attached statistics for this week. we are very low on profit.

Banners

Just a question Capt, does clicking on the same banner ( i.e. BMW etc) on different pages still rack up credit? because i end up scouring the website for different adverts which cannot always be found so as to vary the clicks which takes quite a bit of time.
Anyway how did we end up in November?
Steve

if you click on links within that page yes it racks up as you are investigating further and it counts. But if you get the same page press refresh or F5

Cheers

I haven't been on this forum for a couple of years since I sold my XT back in 2015...

Really hope it doesn't close down. I'm subscribing again anyway...

:thumbsup[1]:

I'm hoping to pick up another XT to do some of the TET in 2018.

Will click on links as much as I can.

My pleasure,

Subscription paid.

I also made a 10 donation as I think its too cheap to pay 10 a year for how much of a comprehensive and informative resource this site is.

Once I've got the bike I'll be sure to make another donation.

Guys, Girls, LGBT's!!!

What the ****!!! :D :D

No one is clicking on the advert banners anymore for weeks!

I thought you wanted to support us keeping the forum afloat.

:support:

Have a look at the attached screen shot, you will see why I am getting worried

divesky 02-01-18 15:41

I am a very occasional user of XT660.com, and as such did not find out about the financial issues you were facing until now. I also only found out about the "click on adverts" request yesterday and have been clicking at random ones, hoping that it helps. If I hadn't been looking at the forum main page today, I probably would have missed this sticky altogether.

From my personal experience, I feel that people may miss your request to click the adverts on this discussion thread as it may not be read by all, and at the same time leave you frustrated. May I suggest (I hope I'm not repeating someone else's suggestion) that an email is sent to remind members occasionally (say, once a month)? May be it is worth a try, even it it is to see if it makes a difference?

englishbandit 02-01-18 21:04

I will set an alarm on my phone for every night for the next month and spend 10 mins clicking on and off the links it would be nice to know if it makes a difference:icon_cheers:i will start tonight

englishbandit 02-01-18 21:13

Can I just confirm I click on the box with the add in then go back then click on it again and just keep doing that . I have set my alarm for 8 pm every night and am starting now. Just want to make sure I am doing it right and not waisting my time doing it wrong

hannesd 11-02-18 14:18

how much is the annual cost to keep this forum running?

englishbandit 11-02-18 23:12

I am just donating 10 every 2 months 5 a month is not much to ask members for. I get coffee at a drive through twice a day **** that’s 5.50 a day .I don’t use this site a lot, but like to pop on just to see what the xt660 lads are doing and what it new, and if I can add anything To help people. And it is handy if anything go’s wrong with the bike to ask for some info.Would hate to lose the site. But if people can not be bothered to pay 1.25p a week ie 5 a month then I guess people think the site is not that important. ? I beg to differ. And on that note think I will donate another 10 now as it’s been about 5 weeks now since I donated. COME ON PEOPLE DONTADE 5 today and help the boss run this site. No I am not clicking I am just donating instead. But will do a bit more clicking now and then again. Was not sure it was working

englishbandit 11-02-18 23:14

Donated look everyone took 2 mins to do, its not hard

Im into it,surely everyone would donate but obviously not...Theres far too much info here to just loose it.Would it all be inaccessible,or available in some kind of Archive ?but I suppose that costs money too.
Hope something gets sorted for you before then though!...

englishbandit 12-02-18 13:53

I say put a list up every week of all the members that donate saying thank you, to you all for donating. Then we all know how well it’s going. Not to show who is not donating, just to show how well we are doing. And at the end of each month show if we covered the cost or not with the donating and clicking. If it looks like the site might be lost anyway, why not show what we are doing. If people really want to keep the site going then they will have to donate or click like mad SIMPLES

hannesd 12-02-18 13:57

just let us, members know, how much is sufficient to maintain this site...
if it's not too much maybe more members will start to concider.
just give us a number...

Spot on.

englishbandit 12-02-18 15:09

10 a month might be a bit much for some people and I do understand that. But surly 5 would be acceptable to 90% of us. As a monthly charge. If that was what it had to be I would sign up as a monthly PayPal direct debit. Sending 10 every 6 to 8 weeks anyway.

Thank you Sam, hopefully if things improve with the Google Adsense revenues we might keep it afloat but you all have to understand it is difficult without any income.
