Frame Crack
 

1.I ve had 660 R sold after
76k / Cracked a frame , out of warranty, repaired with tig.
2.660z sold after 76k Cracked a frame, frame replaced under warranty
3.Then two xt660z s sold one at 15k and one at 10k
4.2014 XT660Z frame cracked at 30k, replaced under warranty,
Frame cracked at 60k , replaced under warranty,
then at 70k , frame cracked again , out of warranty,
All frames cracked on the LH side, crack comes from behind the round tube, from a mig weld on the rear shock upper support.
Anyone else crack a frame, place your pics here too

I STILL LOVE MY 660 TENERE AND WOULDNT SWOP IT ,

any pics on the cracked frames?
where do we look out for it?

Wow !....was that 5 frame cracks all at the upper rear shock mount?

I know you said one was a 2014 bike but what were the others?

Spookily, I've got my bike down to a bare frame at the moment (Tenere) with 50,000 Km and there is no paint flaking or cracking or rust , to indicate stress, appearing around the upper shock mounting area.

Just found a crack on my 2009 Z with 110,000 miles today. Had it welded by a Mexican in Ciudad Constitucion, Baja. Not a bad job but could have done better myself being a mechanic and Ex fabricator. It will get me home. Pics are on the FB page.
