4th Dimension Innovation
This company are apparently a huge (biggest in Europe?) approved repairer in the UK.
I am currently part way through my second claim with them as the approved repairer. Perhaps I should have learnt from the first claim which was delayed by 6 weeks while they waited for a part. I had a courtesy bike that time so was more lenient about it. However, I reported my claim just over 6 weeks ago. It took them 2 weeks to collect my bike. It took a further 10 days for them to inspect the bike and get the claim approved and now after 2 1/2 more weeks they have told me they cannot source a part. The part in question is the XT660Z top yoke. Apparently their supplier has none and Yamaha have said it would take a minimum FOUR months for them to supply one! I know the repairer cannot be blamed for parts. The problem their apathy. It has taken many weeks of phone calls to get them to do or tell me anything. Their service is utterly appalling and I would urge anyone to steer well clear of them. Currently waiting for the insurance company to come back to see if there are any alternative resolutions to this. Suffice to say, it would seem I am going to miss the entire summer because some little scrote wanted to try and nick my bike. |
It does indeed sound like poor service...as an option why not source a top yoke yourself and negotiate with the insurance company?

Yeah I have started to do that but I have only found bottom yokes or yokes for an X or R which are different to a Z.

Think I'd be finding my own at the speed they work and fitting it myself.
Here's another, 7-14 days, so gives you options https://www.ajsutton.co.uk/product/y...wn-comp-?uid=0 |
I have spoken with a couple of parts suppliers and, many of whom say 1-2 weeks on their websites to suddenly turn into a month or more when you actually speak to them. Its all rather frustrating.
As for Bennetts, sorry mate you need to speak to someone else (anyone other than them) to deal with the complaint. They have been utter sh** so far. Certainly won't get my business again. GULG - whilst that's very appealing I have a wedding to pay for so I don't think I could square that one with the Mrs. |
I take it the links to ebay I posted were the wrong ones?

Hi Nikroc.
Unfortunately yes. Thank you all the same though. |

I have a set of triple clamps, steering shaft and bottom bearing if you still need them..
Off a 2013 XT660Z... |

Yup its still needed. I only need the top yoke though. It depends on the amount you are asking for it I guess. You can PM me if you would prefer. |
Oi. Talk to any Yamaha dealer. In general there are 3 cases:
1 Fowlers of Bristol have it in stock. In that case next day it arrives at dealer. Deposit required, and you must give them the VIN number to be sure. 2. Yamaha Europe have it in stock. Within 2 days it arrives at dealer. Process as above. 3. Worst case. Yamaha have stock in Japan. Your dealer will have it within 3 working days. In this case given that the XT was made in Europe then almost certain to be case 1 or 2. Several weeks is rubbish unless we are talking about a Yamaha from the 1970s. Good luck!! |
Hi Simon.
It was Fowlers that said minimum 2-4 weeks on special order in their email to me. Apparently, Yamaha themselves have said that they have none in stock and that ETA from the factory is 6th November. I didn't speak to them myself but will be later today. |
Don't know if you are still looking one but this has just appeared on ebay
