Lurker from Oz(tralia)

Hi there all,

Long time lurker from down in the deep south of Australia. I finally decided it was time to make it all official though!

I have owned my 660 Tenere from new. Its a 2011 model that's been used to the fullest extent of its capabilities whilst in my possession.

Needless to say, it is a little rough around the edges. I do pride myself on tending to its mechanical needs religiously, but a well oiled filter does little to protect in a slide down the road or a wayward tree(or bike!)

She is essentially stock as a rock mechanically. I've only upgraded to make it more reliable when traveling so its heated grips, fat bars and bark busters. Deleted ais, cush bearing modded and and extended dog-bone kit in the rear to sharpen the steering and set the seat at a height more suited to my own.
To finish I have OTR pannier racks with hepco boxes on them and a crappy Yamaha top box to boot. Plenty of room for travelling(and enough for a slab per pannier too haha)

All in all, I love the bike. It was a dream come true to ride it off the showroom flow and I still love it to this day. I've found this forum to be a great resource and look forward to learning much more as time rolls on.

I'll attempt to upload some terrible photos later (I'm a terrible camera operator)

Cheers all

Dale

Welcome to the forum! , always envious of the amazing countryside you have to ride in OZ!, and the Tenere is the bike for it. Steve

We certainly have and immense variety of roads to choose from. I love it, and I love the dirt especially as you can ride as close to the limit of your ability and never will the police harass you.

Jumping on an R1 and have a crack on the twisty blacktop results in rapid and regular meetings with the local constabulary who can and will take your bike and send it to be crushed.
