GPR Furore exhaust experiences?

Hi,

I was wandering if anyone has experience with the GPR exhausts on an XT, particularly the Furore one?

I am considering buying a set as I have found some at a decent price compared to other makes or models, but wanted some feedback on them first, how loud or the build quality etc.

I have read reviews of them for other bikes on random forums etc and overall seem pretty good so far, especially given the price.

:signthankspin:

Unfortunately not on the xt but I fitted some to my dad's 990 super Duke r when he had it and I was very impressed with them, nice and light, well made and great sound

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.

So far I haven't read anything bad about them so I might try them out, if so I will put a review on here in case others are interested.

Nice bike your Dad has too! :occasion14:

I certainly thought they were good, will keep an eye out for your review if you go for them as would be good to see what they are like on the xt.

The superduke r was nice, throttle response was always twitchy and it was replaced with a v4 tuono which was much better, unfortunately it was replaced by a short lived Roadking and now a low rider s which is rather tasty

Good to know, I just got a decent deal on a set from Moto Legends in UK in case others are interested.
I will post some feedback once I receive them in a few weeks and get them fitted.

In the meantime hopefully I can get the DNA filters and O2/powercommander setup ready for them arriving! :hello2:

Some nice bikes your Dad has had, the low rider s are very nice, see a lot of them around Vienna here and sound very nice too!

I had a Yamaha XVS950a before selling it for the XTX due to not using it longer distances anymore, so I wanted something more suited to city driving also, loving the difference in handling but do miss the comfort of the cruiser sometimes, no regrets in changing though.

Good good. Moto legends have always been pretty decent when I've bought stuff, hopefully they arrive soon for you. Getting the original exhaust off is a bit awkward but very doable.

Low rider is still being run in so I haven't managed to get a run on it yet but the v4 was an absolute animal.

The xsv is a nice bike and you will enjoy the xt especially with all those modifications

Yeah they have been good to deal with for me too, they were quick to get back to me about my questions I had, im now eagerly awaiting the confirmation that they have been sent, but they are coming direct from the factory in Italy so depends on stock levels if they need to make new pipes etc.

I have my DNA filters already ready for the power commander, which should be here this Friday.
I already fitted the O2 optimiser as this arrived last week and it has helped smooth the surging a little but not as much as I thought it might to be honest, I guess once all parts are on and new map is loaded for the power commander there should be a nice change to how the bike runs! :icon_biggrin:

Received my exhausts from GPR today, was a pleasant surprise as I hadn't received tracking info so had assumed they weren't even sent yet!

They came in a GPR box which seems well packed, had to resist the temptation to open them in the office so will check them out when home later and try to get them fitted.

Looking forward to seeing the difference they make to the bike, the DNA filters and power commander have already made a huge difference to both performance and sound of the bike so these should finish it off nicely now. :yahoo:

Yeah I will do, will try to get a video as well sometime.
I couldn't resist looking inside at lunch time and was impressed with the quality and the packaging, they even have their own black GPR pull string fabric bags to hold the cans and other bits!

I read somewhere I should replace the exhaust gaskets when changing them over, whats the general consensus on here about that?
Will have to go past the bike shop and hope they have some if so, unless they included some with the new exhausts.

Got the exhausts fitted this evening but was a bit dark by the time I had finished, so will get photos tomorrow.

There are 2 baffles to fit, the normal one at the end of the can is already fitted with a C clip holding it in but there is a cone shaped one to put in at the pipe connection end nearer the engine, and they didn't want to go in so have left them out for now, its a bit loud so going to try taking it apart again to get them fitted somehow, plus I think I would be in trouble with the powers that be if checked...

Like the look of them though and they do sound nice, even if loud! :icon_thumright:

MarkXT 20-06-17 03:47

Glad you are happy with them even if a tad loud. I can't remember the internal restricters making that much of a difference with the noise but from memory they can be fitted pointy end towards front or back of the bike.

Yeah I really like them and I also like the noise they make but more worried about being fined for not having the baffle in, at least if its in and its still loud it will be within the legal requirements :icon_tongue:

I didn't realise they could be fitted pointy end towards the engine side, that would maybe work for me, the problem was the lip at the end of the baffle was the same size as the pipe on the end can and that meant the pipe coming from the engine side wouldn't slide in. I didnt want to force it in and either risk damaging something or getting it so stuck it cant come out again...

Lazer 21-06-17 02:01

Got the extra baffles put in today, I just used the dremel to smooth off the edges a bit and managed to get them fitting well, so im fully legal now!
The noise has reduced slightly but not too much and still has a nice deep tone to it, so im pretty pleased with the end result! :icon_biggrin:

Will add pictures and/or video when I get some time.

Mc107 21-06-17 02:39

Any pictures ?
Just read the last message pics will be good tho

Lazer 21-06-17 10:36

Yeah I will get some tonight when im home, it was a bit dark last night by the time i got the baffles sorted out.

I have a photo and small video I took yesterday on my phone, will see if I can add them for now, the video was in my office car park though so didnt want to be revving it up properly there :slywink:

I have this photo for now, will get better ones later, I will try to get a better video also as the one I have doesn't do them justice, its not really revving much as I was in the underground car park at my office, so quite loud in there!

MarkXT 22-06-17 13:25

Looks well, glad you got the baffles sorted

Lazer 22-06-17 15:31

Cheers, the trusty dremel sorted it out easy enough once I checked it properly in daylight and realised it was only slightly too big.

I got some more photos yesterday for those who are interested.

I also took a couple of short videos of the sound but don't think the iPhone microphone does them justice. They sound much better in real life than on the recording...

Wullyk 27-06-17 16:40

Hi Later.
Exhausts look sweet. Liked the look of them when I was on the hunt for some. Bike is looking good.
Ride safe.
Wully.

Cheers :occasion14:
