I did keep an eye on it first time it happened when the bike was new. but it never happened again for the next 12k miles so I paid no more attention. Until recently!

I think once tightened properly it remains solid.

In my case the plate had was free to rotate and rib against the sprocket bolts and the consequence was rounded edged and slightly bent adjuster threaded rod (luckily I was able to straighten it)
