Crosspro aluminium crash bars?

Hello Everyone

I want to buy some crash bars for my tenere, currently i'm considering this option of a portuguese manufacturer called crosspro, they sell their products on ebay.

Anyone have experience with this crash bars, any recommendations? i just want to consider other options than the sw-motech (made in steel) specially since the crosspro is made in aluminium (lighter material), in the future i would like to integrate it with the givi skid plate or the adventure-spec, but i know for this last one i may need to modified it.

Any advice would be much appreciated

I don't have or ever had crash bars fitted on my Tenere. But the fact that the Crosspro's are made of aluminium would concern me about their strength in a fall. In my experience with Steel verses Aluminium accessories fitted to Trucks, aluminium bends & fatigues ALOT easier than steel. Hence why the Tenere frame is steel so it doesn't break when loaded to the hilt.
In the event of a fall I fear the aluminium would do more damage than it saves.
Just some food for thought buddy.

I think sometimes is better not to invent to muchand go for the secure and tested option then. Sw-motech

Thanks for your advice

Juan-Carlos: I've bought the SW Motecs - if you are interested we'll find a reasonable price for both of us. They are just laying around and are never mounted and new.
I didn't mount them in cause of a better "underprotection". The SW Motecs require an original protector.

regards, Andy

Hello Andy

That is nice please drop me a private message with the amount you would like for them. I don't know if its suit me for the shipping to ireland

Just in case you change your mind i have being digging about the compatibility of the SW-motech with other skid plates and it's look like is compatible with the following ones without modification.

Givi skid plate

SW motech engine guard

H&B plate

With a minor modification, already detailed in the forum
Adventure spec

Maybe someone can confirm my previous sentence

I'll be waiting for your message:066:
