Awful bike wide vibrations
 

TL;DR My bike vibrates way more than a mono cylinder should and I dont know what to check next.


I admit I droped the bike a few times (nothing serious) in a few accidents, but last one was pretty mild but right after I felt the bike started to vibrate a lot more. I droped it on the right side.

Basically whenever the rpm is higher than say 1800 it will start to shake badly making the trip awful. So bad that some of my screw have come loose/fallen off. I've burnt a few lights because the fork shakes so hard. And now something else got messed up and the whole dashboard + light assembly vibrates to the point where you can clearly hear it on my camera.

I've checked the fork to make sure everything is tight and nice. I checked that the exhaust are mounted right and they dont make the engine shake. Checked various other "outside" nuts and bolts.

What I haven't/couldn't check is any of the points the engine is mounted on the frame. Could one of them be broken/damaged in a way that would make it behave like this?

I can feel it like crazy in my pegs for a while, before I get adjusted and if I'm waiting at a stoplight with my hands on the handlebars it looks like my arms have a seizure or something.

What would be the best way to get this fixed? Its driving me crazy.

have you checked your wheels are balanced?..forks are nice and tight but are they twisted?..tbh its difficult to diagnose BUT in my humble opinion I would check every visible nut and bolt on the bike. At the end of the day they are singles!!

I changed the tires before winter, had the wheels aligned. I check pressure every weekend. The bike vibrates when still so the wheels are def not the cause.

Forks have been serviced a couple of months ago (changed the bearings, oil, etc). This improved it just a little bit, can feel there are less vibrations in the front.

I checked everything I could check without taking the bike apart and it seems in order. I suspect the culprit is the engine not siting right on the frame but dont know how to proceed.

At low rpms it feels like a normal mono but everything above is bad, and if I go way up in rpms it feels and looks like my bike is going to fall apart.

OK..I dont see how you got any other option BUT to remove the plastics to check engine mountings..its not hard to remove

Can I reach all of them just by taking the fairing off? What should I look for? Cracked, misaligned? Never did this on the bike before.

Im afraid your going to have to take off whatever is needed. You not got a owners manual?..

Just check all the engine mounting bolts/nuts..its all you can do.

Yeah I got all the manuals from Kev, Ill take a look and see where and how I can check it.

Scratch that..i just checked mine ..you can see/access the front engine mounts between the exhausts..the top engine mounting is visible/accessable and the rear mounting bolt is accessd behind two rubber plugs,near swingarm area..afaik thats it.

just a thought...you checked the handlebar mountings?..both bar end weights still in place?

Bar end were there last time I checked. But its not just the fork, I can feel the vibrations on the footpegs and the passenger seat is even worse.
