Avon Trekrider

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...pskb7pvhee.jpg Trekrider's arrived. ...I'll fit them next week and report back. They look a bit like the Distanzia's but with wider space between the blocks of tread.. Steve

They do indeed look like the old Distanzia but beefed up a little. Looking forward to your assessment...

Definitely get you down a few trails I know with those new treads!..I quite like the look of them!..

Interested to see what you make of them, need a new rear (tkc80) soon, but might buy a set of these if they are any good.....thanks in advance for being the forum guinea pig ;)

Could be the ones for me for my trip to Wales in august,I'm not doing that distance on my usual tyres!!..they look good!..

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psx0uzjzzn.jpg Did a mixture of these 'Grey lanes' and A roads. Rode up to Box Hill in Surrey, then across to Hampshire on a random route. First few miles felt a bit like they .. (the tyres) ..were tipping into the corners beyond my input. ..if you know what i mean!. I think my old Distanzia was so worn out and a bit flattened off I had adapted to it.. and I just needed to adjust to a more rounded tyre . After 20 miles I found myself really liking the Trekrider's, the first part of my ride was in nice weather ( 10 degrees plus) , and I was soon flicking through the bends. Halfway through the heavens opened and it was driving rain for half an hour. The tyres felt great in these conditions, it's reassuring when you are on a busy bendy road with cars up your tail and you know you can lean over and brake hard if necessary ! By the time I was nearly home the weather had dried up and I was having a great ride....taking familiar bends and roundabouts at my usual pace. So for every day use the tyres are great and suit the Tenere well. Next step is to try them off road...hopefully next week! Steve

We should arrange a ride for next weekend perhaps?..chalk pit lane followed by some winding country roads , i have two lovely lanes for those tyres!..

Sounds good Jo. ...look forward to it. Steve

Good review of your first impressions, interesting to hear how they preformed on the roads, good looking tread on them too. Nice pics as always

Hi Iv'e been away fro a long while from here but still have the old 2008 Tenere and its sister which I ride most the S10!

Anyhow I'm doing the Tenere Experience and the Taffy Dakar the following week so need advice on whether to stick TrekRiders on both bikes or not?

Anybody got any real world feedback to post up?

thanks in advance

My Trekrider's have been fine on gravel /dry grassy lanes and hard packed chalk....but like every compromise tyre they struggle on mud!. The impeccable road grip makes it worthwhile for me. Steve
