Hi All!

Looking at buying one soon, a real low mileage from a dealer. Can some point me in the direction of what an Xt660r cost when it was split new?

Many thanks

Liam

Welcome to the Forum.
I think the XT660R was in the region of 6500 new.
I'm sure someone else will confirm at some point though.

Difficult to say really. Although the last list price was 6499, that was a while back and for the last couple of years (with dwindling sales) there were many offers and deals to be had.

My local dealer in Norwich had an unregistered MY2014 XT660R advertised for 5799 and two preregistered 0 mile MY2014 '65' plate XT660Xs for 4999 back in October. All stock will be pre-registered now as the dealers had to do this because they cannot sell 'new' non-EURO IV compliant bikes as from January 1st 2017.

I dare say you could have even bartered those prices down a bit? There are still plenty of pre-registered 0 mile XTs at dealers if you're after one. You'll just have to do some trawling around and may have to travel to get one.

Struggling to make up my mind...

Thanks for the welcomes and the reply. I'm now torn between and R or a Tenere...

Hello and welcome aboard.
I've never owned or ridden an R but have owned an X and now own a couple of T's.
I'd pursue that the R would handle similar to the T due to its similar larger front wheel.
I'd prefer the T due to its bigger fuel capacity and styling .

Bought

Got a Tenere on a 14 plate with panniers, light protector and bash plate for 5100.
It's only done 800 miles.
MOD TIME!

:eusa_clap: Well done!

Sounds like a good bike at a good price.
