G'day from Western Australia

G'day from West Oz. I have owned my 2010 tenere for just over a fortnight. I have put about 5000km in that time. 3600km was riding it home from the Kimberley to the WA south coast were I live. I am very pleased with the bike. It rides well, is great on fuel, goes well on the highway and on the WA pea gravel strewn dirt roads. It coped with Kimberley 45 degree celsius heat.

:006: Welcome on board mate.

3600 Km is an impressive distance to travel to get a Tenere. Shows you must have been really desperate to get your hands on one! ;)

I was definitely keen!! I like the thumper dirt road tourers and my Tenere was half the new price with 5600 km on it. Plus It was as good an excuse as any to go for a nice long ride. I can now confidently say that the Tenere makes an excellent long haul tourer. At the pace I ride its' fuel economy and range is excellent.

Here in Australia DR650's and KLR650's are very popular. I owned a DR for a few years and mates own the KLR's. I definitely prefer the Tenere to either. The KLR is a bit gutless and the DR needs a lot of money thrown at it to make it a good all roads tourer. Right off the bat you can just get out and ride the Tenere. Now if only the Aussie cricket team was half as good as one.
