Cheers Pepsi! , I think they are Excel....I had them made up by Talon years ago. Steve

Lucky B******. I was torn between an XR650 & a Hornet when I still lived in the UK. Ended up with the Hornet coz of the electric start & longer warranty.
What could have been.... |
Always longed for an XR650, but somehow never got around to owning one.
Probably due to poverty. SO I have to live vicariously and watch "Dust to Glory" for the 40th time... Nice bike. There are some Hondas I really like, and that's one of them. |
Cheers guys....I am too emotionally attached to the XR! , but I've had some of the best rides of my life both on and off road on that bike. But I'm glad to say that the Tenere has also got my heart now!. The XR should go , but I reckon it will be worth the same money now/ next year/ the year after... I bought it from a friend 8 years ago for 1500 pounds...he'd had it from new and barely used it. I'm sure I'd get more for it now. ..so you buy a bike, use it, ride it far and wide for 6 years and it's worth more than you paid! Which is why I'm clinging on to it for now ! Steve

Very nice, looks like fun. I know what you mean, I've a 2001 zx7r tucked away, hasn't moved since the xt landed but owes me nothing, wanted one for so long and still puts a smile on my face
|
I'd keep the XR to if I were you Steve.
The bike shop here in Gladstone have just moved into bigger & better premises next door. The owner Rob now has a section to display his own bikes some being a one of a few road register able CR 500, never ridden still has a plastic cover on the seat, fully restored old XT500 ( chrome/silver tank ), and an TT500 sat next to it of the same era. All going up in value needless to say. |
Cheers Pepsi for the link.... and Desert Racer your right....keep the XR! . You mentioned a CR500....I had one of those back in the day, what a beast!. I wish I had been wise enough/mature enough to appreciate what a classic I had. It was ridden endlessly around Slindon sandpits....such good times! Steve
