Husqvarna 701 supermoto

I am toying with the idea of buying one, I haven't used my Tenere for a while now as I have been using the XTX and having fun on that, with my shift pattern and family commitments my riding time is limited throw in our wonderful weather here in the uk and it gets hard to get out on the bike (I have ridden in bad weather for years, but choose not to these days)
So my thinking is to sell both my XT's and buy the 2017 Husky......
Thoughts? Would you keep the 2 XT's or go for the new bike?, all 3 would be a great option, but haven't got the room or cash for that.....

If you don't plan any long trips anymore and want small bursts with maximum fun, it's a logical move.
The Husky now has 10.000km service intervals which makes it actually approachable to everybody.

It's always a pest, you have 2 great bikes that you know well. When the time comes to sell these things there is always that feeling of 'Damn I wish I'd never sold that' after. But life is all about experience & the Husky does look very cool. I very much doubt you will be disappointed with it, & you just can't beat that new bike feeling!
Maybe if you could get a test ride on a demo model it would help the transition?

go with the KTM/Husky....
70 odd HP is what a motard is all about...
But that seat don't look ass freindly....

Nice dilemma to have.....!, but I know what Desert Racer means. I took my XR650R for an Mot yesterday. ..started 2nd kick after a year sitting in the garage....straight through the Mot with no advisories. Keeping a second bike makes no sense financially or time wise but as I blasted around on the XR all sensible thought left me! The Tenere is a keeper. ..I love that bike and in fact riding the XR showed what a great all round bike the Ten is. ..so civilised in comparison but still a great grunty single. The vague plan is to turn the XR into a 'Baja' style bike and use it for any 'proper' off roading I do....but if I sold it I could treat the Tenere to some fab upgrades. ..the saga goes on ! Steve

I recently sold a CCM R30,with a 710 big bore kit on it.

It was Dyno'd and had a custom built exhaust. I bought it that way and in truth in relative ignorance as to what it was.

It was black carbon with gold wheels and looked the dogs danglies.

However it was a bike that was either 'on or off'....performance in bucket loads, outstanding brakes and a seat like a razor blade.

I sold it after it was stolen and miraculously recovered. The police actually were looking for another stolen bike. They found it and mine yet the scrote still got away with it.

Minor damage, good insurance payout and profit when I sold it.

The XT,esp now modded, is giving me so much more riding pleasure and comfort.

I don't regret for a minute selling the CCM.

One day Id like a tiger 1050..but I like to think I'll keep the XT..pension permitting!!

The Seat does concern me Petenz....
I used to have an XR650 Motard too, loved that bike, had to sell it to buy another car as someone kept trying to steal it from the works car park (2 attempts my 3 locks just stopped them) didn't ever go back to work on a bike after that, changed jobs now though.
The 701s do look fun and ultimately that's what it's about I suppose, I'm not in any rush, so will try and get a test ride and let you know how I get on....thanks for the replies
( pic is me on my XR a good few years back )

It's not that the XT is a bad bike, mine has cans pc5 and has been set up on a dyno, goes well and its comfortable too, but it could do with a little less weight (so could I for that matter) and better suspension
