Pitted forks+leaking seals..

Ok i know the bike was a trade sale and tbh this is the only 'mechanical' issue ,thus far.

Noticed oil on the fork legs and after examining them their pitted. Not massively but obviuosly enough to cause a leak. Not too much of an issue.

Back in the 'old' days we used to use araldite to fill the pitts and wet and dry to smooth it down. A cheap n cheerfull fix.

What do people use/do nowdays?..other than replacing the stantions/forks....

Superglue works just as well as epoxy.

On the farms round here it is common place to use acid-core brazing solder to fill pits in hydraulic ram rods as a cheap fix to keep machinery going. It's pretty universal practice amongst tight-fisted Norfolk farmers and the technique works just as well on motorcycle forks or any other hard-chromed sealing surface. Pop into an agricultural engineers and ask.
