The saga continues...

Installed a different camshaft from Off The Road some weeks ago and had her on the dyno now. Result is 61.3 HP with just the camshaft changed and a little more modification to the airbox. Power output below 5500 RPM is down a bit but still pulls very strong until the rev limiter, looks like there might be some more power beyond the rev limited even.

Altogether with the piston and flowing the head ports a bit I think it's a good combination. Only downside for me is the engine ticking got considerably louder which is normal result with this camshaft.. in stock form the xt engine of course isn't exactly running like a sewing machine.

so from 53hp to 61hp due to the camshaft from otr??
torque moved to higher revs then?
valves tapping harder due to steeper cam design?

Yes but the engine was already optimized for a cam with more duration/lift with the piston and head changes, without those the results probably would have been less. Everything has to work in synergy.

You're right torque is higher relatively in higher revs but overall is a bit lower just stays on longer at high revs now.

I guess its the steeper angle yeah that makes them click clack LOUD, valve lash is set right in the middle now maybe if I feel brave I will put them a bit tighter lol.

Raptor 5050 cam results below, we saw with the Hot cam stage 3 around 60hp

The cam I would have chosen if it was a simple drop in nice midrange and suited well for stock rev limiter, found it difficult to source used decompression bits.. new those bit are more expensive than the camshaft!
