Sad to say, this morning the insurance totaled my Ten. I had a run in with a pedestrian about two week ago (ran out in front of me and I couldn't do anything) and my bike took most of the damage.

Hopefully I will be able to get another Ten. X or R just won't be good enough for two up touring. Would hate to not be part of such a great community of bikers as this.

theres some cheap Xs and Rs about but once you've had a tenere you cant go back!!

Thanks guys. I am still waiting for the settlement offer, so will see what I can get.

If it's not enough, I'll get a smaller bike for commuting and save up for another Ten. Maybe a DRZ or something. I have to buy new kit as well because they had to cut my jacket and my lid was binned so doubt the payout will be enough.

I'm sticking around though. Another Ten is definitely in the cards for the near future.

Just be wary of accepting the first offer they make. Haggle hard and make sure you get what you're happy with. :smilies0944:

So I can get my Ten back and enough of a payout to get myself a small drz and some change to start repairing. I honestly don't think the damage is so severe that they had to go and write it off. Anyway. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to fix it up or should I kist look for a new one? I think it's mostly cosmetic. These bikes are built to take a knock.
