I saw a real beauty early this morning...
A 1986 XT600Z TNR type 1VJ
Seems to be all original except for the Excel black rims, the original ones would have been some OEM gold rims. http://www.rallye-tenere.net/Stamb_xt_600_z-1VJ.htm https://c5.staticflickr.com/8/7075/2...be0bc8cc_b.jpg https://c5.staticflickr.com/8/7010/2...26385519_b.jpg https://c3.staticflickr.com/8/7336/2...4b8c5b47_b.jpg https://c3.staticflickr.com/8/7044/2...26a7df1c_b.jpg https://c5.staticflickr.com/8/7334/2...981f58f5_b.jpg |
Would be a nice bike to own...
Quite rare.... |
Tidy bike for 20yrs old. I would have the biggest lock I could find leaving it unattended. I wonder if its had some Dave Lambeth treatment, he specialised in the old XT's. I had the pleasure of going to his workshop once & he had 3 XT600's with the small petrol tanks in white & red in various state's of restoration. They looked as though they had just rolled off the production line at Yamaha. Dave was in Surrey or Sussex I think, he used to organise bike expeditions too.

Goodness, stunning bike......

Lovely Bike but possibly a pain in the Ass to kick start on a cold and frosty morning if it's not set up right....
or maybe I'm just a wimp. :017: |

Lovely looking all the same, with great style. |
Nice bike....I had the very same one back in the day. ...a doddle to kick start when cold...or hot....but in between! , a leg breaker!. You would kick her into life , set off to see the girlfriend, stop at the local shop, and then descend into a bog of sweat trying to get started again.....Steve

Why not just use the electric start? it was a combo, kick and electric,
34L/55W 600Z's >85 were kick only, 1VJ's >88 were combo, 3AJ's >90 were just electric |
