Hello from Scotland
Hi folks new to the forum. Just picked a 2010 xt660z and really enjoying it.
This is by far the best bike ive owned for my style of riding. I recently sold my Triumph Scrambler and moved back to Yamaha. Ive been riding for about 8 years now on the road and about 12 off road. Just wanted to say hello. Cheers Ali |

hi mate
welcome to the site. i am up your way at the end of may on a 5 day ride around Loch ness |
Hopefully the weather a bit better by then. Its snowing up here just now was just at loch ness last week great roads. If you can head for Torridon its great up there. Just keep an eye out for the unmarked police bikes there everywhere just now. These roads are there hunting grounds :)

Hello

:006: Welcome on board Ali.

Welcome to the forum Ali and enjoy the lovely Tenere. I will be doing my first trip to the Highlands the first 2 weeks of June with 3 fellow South Africans so pretty please some warmer dryer weather so they don't have heart failure.

Junes normally the best time to ride up here as theres not as many midges and normally sunnyish. This is Scotland though and the further north you go the quicker the weather changes. Hope you enjoy if you can go up the west coast much better scenery and views. Plus plenty of good food as well :) its a great place to ride normally the roads are pretty quiet too which is a bonus :)

Hello and welcome to the forum!!..

hi
i stay just by the dorse pub on the lock. i go there every December by car and stay for 3 or 4 days best time to go in the winter. but as me and the wife wanted to do the route on the bikes thought first week in june would be best. i love the route to the isle of skye from the loch and all round the lock. thanks for the heads up on the police bikes. do you get many around the loch. as most of it is twisty roads. i have only been in winter and to be honest i am lucky to see another car. its that baron. i must admit looking at the weather i really am hoping it picks up.as do not want to do the routes in the pissing rain or bloody snow. just no point. plus my bike is in show room condition. fingers crossed the weather will pick up. |
I'll keep a lookout for another XT while I'm there. My teneres blue with a CX reg. Hope your weather wishes come true for my sake too
|
Me to. Will be with the wife on her MT03 we bought her for the trip. Well we bought both bikes for the trip. May sell them when we get back. Like my other bikes to much. But not to sure yet. May go for a triumph tiger instead. Love the xt660x but it's not really the sort of bike I can jump on and go 200 miles down the motorway on so it takes out a lot of the riding I like to do. Will see how it go's. ps I will be on a 2011 blue xt660x.
