My XTX after a good clean
Hi peeps just thought I would share a pic of my XTX after a good spring clean! I don't have the new blue rear brake line fitted in this one as had to wait for a missing rubber grommet to arrive but front one is on.

Haha thanks I ride it every day so that is not hard. Unfortunately I managed to seize the engine today though. :(

Bad news about your great looking bike! , hopefully not too bad. Steve

Unfortunately it seems it is that bad. I asked my mechanic how much it would cost for him to strip the engine and repair it and he said it would likely be more than 1000 so it looks like I will be replacing the whole engine.

Hope you get it sorted |
Sorry to hear that bud it really sucks when stuff goes majorly wrong, hope your mechanic makes short work of it.
I got a used engine and fitted it myself for 500. Took me a couple of full days work to take the old engine out, put the other one in and get the bike running again and it seems to be ok so far fingers crossed! Haven't been able to ride it yet as I broke a sensor putting it back together and have to wait till Tuesday for it to turn up so I can ride home. |
Glad you got sorted with another engine, at least you will be back on the road again....
Mine is all back together, this was a couple of weeks ago in Llangollen somewhere http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o.../image_55.jpeg Might have to sell it though as the building work we are having done is costing extra......so trying to hang on to it as long as I can :( |
Would be a shame if you did have to get rid of it the wr is a nice bike I rode one once and it was a lot of fun. Looks like you are using it as it was intended too. My xt will be back on the road tomorrow evening can't wait.
